If you are thinking about updating your kitchen or planning a new one for 2016, then here is a checklist of things to consider:
What elements in your kitchen work (or don’t work) for you?
Declutter and improve your storage space with open plan shelving and deep drawers. Maybe even add soft close drawers for improved safety in the kitchen.
Update cabinet doors and handles – more contemporary or more traditional? Touch open cupboards.
Think about where you want to sit, where you prepare food and where you keep your cooking products. Your main work area should ideally face the seating area.
Have a kitchen island – this is great for a breakfast bar with storage underneath. You can also integrate them with a sink or with cooking hob so you can talk with your guests when preparing the food.
The kitchen triangle – this is the natural pathway between the fridge, cooker and sink. Everything you need should be close by so you are not having to move too much.
Upgrade to granite or composite worktops – upgrade laminated worktops, there are lots of upgrade options available and can be supplied to your specific requirements and made to measure.
Mix of materials – how is everything going to work together. This includes worktops, cabinet doors, handles and fittings, tiles and lighting.
Improve your kitchen lighting with LED lighting and under the cabinet lighting options. LED lighting is cost effective and eco friendly.
Add some enhanced features to your kitchen such as the Quooker hot tap for boiling water at a touch of a button or maybe you need a new sink or taps. There are lots of different options available to suit your specific requirements.
